To Whom It May Concern:
I am an 18 year old Asian American student attending Eckerd College, St. Petersburg Florida. I read a variety of articles on your website, and I felt mix feelings.
As an Asian American, I understand your frustrations, and I agree a 100% with some of your articles. The article about mental health of Asians in Cornell was valid and shocking. This issue needs to be addressed more avidly in the media, and you are doing the right thing by raising awareness. Another set of informative articles were the ones regarding Asian women as a fetish. “For Asian Women, 'Fetish' is Less Than Benign” stands out. This shows examples of how stereotypes are hurting Asian women as a group. Granted, women in general are harassed and abused, and you fail to mention that, but the article is effective in showing the dangers of stereotypes.
Other articles sound more bias, so it loses its credentials. For instance, the piece about affirmative action hurting Asian’s chances of getting into college fails to take into account that affirmative action also benefits Asians in other areas. It mentions all the negatives, but none of the positives.
Great job with your website. I hope you continue empowering Asian culture.
To Whom It May Concern:
I am an 18 year old Asian American student attending Eckerd College, St. Petersburg Florida. I took a look at your website, and know you are definitely expanding the popularity of Asian American actors.
Asian Americans, Asians in general, need more screen time in Hollywood movies. Your website promotes them, and you help the industry in general.
